Several orthodontists are part of our team, allowing us to offer more convenient and efficient office visits. Our orthodontists are passionate about crafting smiles and will work with you to create a personalized plan!
Dr. Steve Giannoutsos
Born and raised in the city of Astoria located in Queens, NY, Dr. Steve Giannoutsos (Dr. Steve) attended NYU College of Dentistry for his DDS and continued his education to become an orthodontist by attending NYU College of Dentistry, Orthodontics. His passion for continuing education did not stop there as he then received training at the NYU School of Medicine Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery and is currently an orthodontic craniofacial fellow.
Dr. Steve joined Georgetown Orthodontics and Norwalk Orthodontics in 2008. He enjoys working with his colleagues, patients, and parents in helping achieve a perfect smile. Dr. Steve believes that orthodontic care is a form of art on the human body that is performed through the teeth. Seeing nervous patients who have been embarrassed by their smiles for years finally spread their wings and regain confidence after orthodontic care is the joy that brings him to the office every day!
Outside of the office, Dr. Steve enjoys mixed martial arts and racing cars. He loves to spend time with his wife, Michaele, and three daughters, Yana, Maria, and Sofia.
Dr. Sharon Wang
Dr. Sharon Wang embarked on her academic journey at the University of Pennsylvania, specializing in biochemistry, before earning her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. She furthered her expertise with a Masters in Orthodontics at West Virginia University and augmented her training with a Craniofacial and Special Needs Fellowship in Orthodontics in New York City.
Dr. Sharon is dedicated to providing personalized compassionate care to each patient, ensuring their treatment goals are met. Outside of work, she enjoys snuggling with her cat and dog while watching comfort shows.
Dr. Michel Abou Obeid
Dr. Michel Abou Obeid was born in Beirut, Lebanon, and is proud to carry on the orthodontic legacy passed on to him by his grandfather, a dentist, and father, an orthodontist. They instilled in him not only a love for orthodontics, but also a passion for those in his community who need love and assistance in life. He has been involved with several outreach and interfaith groups through his church. He launched a young professionals ministry organization in Houston, and looks forward to finding tangible ways to reach out to his community.
Dr. Michel is fluent in French, Spanish, and Arabic and is currently learning Italian. He enjoys traveling the world and encountering new places and cultures. His favorite cities include Paris, Rome, and Mexico City. Prior to moving back to New York, he owned and operated a successful orthodontic practice in Texas for seven years. He is looking forward to meeting each patient and their family, as well as providing exceptional orthodontic care.
Dr. Jeff Theis
After working for several years in the field of chemical engineering, Dr. Theis attended the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine and obtained his Doctorate of Dental Medicine. Upon graduating from dental school, he pursued a specialty in orthodontics at the prestigious University of Washington Department of Orthodontics in Seattle.
Dr. Theis has been practicing orthodontics in Seattle and Connecticut for over 20 years. He is committed to providing the highest level of care, using an individualized treatment approach to create beautiful smiles.
He lives in Branford with his wife and twin daughters, and enjoys music, ballet, cooking, reading, and automotive maintenance.
Dr. Christina Seong
Dr. Christina Seong is a board-certified orthodontist. She earned her undergraduate degree in biochemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and went on to receive her DMD degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She then completed a three-year orthodontic residency at the University of Connecticut.
Dr. Seong is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to her patients. She is an expert in both traditional braces and Invisalign and is committed to creating beautiful, healthy smiles for patients of all ages. Her approach to care is centered around personalized treatment plans and patient education. She also keeps up to date with the latest developments in her field by reading professional journals and taking continuing education courses.
In her free time, Dr. Seong enjoys hiking and spending quality time with her family.
Dr. Shawheen Saffari
Dr. Shawheen Saffari was born and raised in a town outside of Boston, MA. Dr. Saffari completed his dental school training at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston and then moved to New York City.
While in New York City, Dr. Saffari completed his General Practice Residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx, NY followed by taking the position as chief resident for the General Practice Residency program at Jacobi Medical Center, also in the Bronx. These two years provided Dr. Saffari with extensive training in all aspects of dentistry with further responsibilities such as taking trauma calls for the hospital ER and treating special needs patients’ dental needs in the operating room. Despite two years of expansive dental experience, Dr. Saffari wanted to continue towards his goal of becoming an orthodontist.
Dr. Saffari returned to St. Barnabas Hospital to complete his orthodontic training in 2021 and joined iSmile Orthodontics that summer. Dr. Saffari became a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics in 2021 as well. Dr. Saffari also is completing a fellowship in surgical and craniofacial orthodontics at Jacobi Medical Center as well.
Dr. Saffari is grateful that he is in a profession that aims on improving the smiles of those he treats and has the chance to get to know his patients individually over the course of their treatment. Whether it be catching up on summer vacations or the latest series to binge on Netflix, Dr. Saffari loves to know his patients better and make sure their experiences over the course of their orthodontic treatment is the best it can be.
Dr. Saffari’s free time is usually spent catching up on the latest shows or movies or playing video games in the most comfortable hoodie that he can find. When he’s ready for sunlight you can find him traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Tina Ann
Dr. Tina An was raised in Queens, New York. She completed her undergraduate studies at Binghamton University to earn her bachelor’s degree in science. After which, she attended Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine for her formal dental training. She then chose to specialize in orthodontics and completed her advanced postgraduate orthodontics residency at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine as well. Dr. Tina is a firm believer in the importance of a confident smile and she is passionate about creating beautiful smiles for patients. She is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association.
